i met my boyfriend at a summer camp for “gifted kids” last year, during the last week. we stayed up late one night talking about our shared interest in marching band. i thought nothing would ever come of my crush on him, but we met again at a reunion for the camp last October and had the time of our lives. i sent him a risky text after that reunion telling him how i felt and asking him how he felt about long distance. we’ve now been together for 9 months and seeing each other at least once a month. i just got back today from vacationing with my family at the lake where he lives and spending days on the water wakeboarding and swimming with him. we’re only 17, but i can see myself spending the rest of my life with him.
